About Jessica Holfeltz

I began my journey as a Mental Health Counselor as many often do, with a passion to grow, and it has been on this journey that I have found myself. I have a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Utah in Social Work and a Master’s in Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Currently, I am in the process of getting certified as a sex therapist through AASECT {American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists}. Part of my passion lies with teaching people how to have a healthy understanding of their own sexuality as well as how they connect physically, emotionally, spiritually, and sexually with others.

The first time I met Corey Holmgren was January 2016 when I started working at the Salt Lake City office of LifeStar as an intern. We instantly connected and went about our days high-fiving, quoting the popular television sitcom The Office, and creating sexual health curriculum, which we utilized in therapy groups and presentations. He was and still is my brother, my friend, and the one with whom I roll my eyes at most {out of love}. 

Like Corey, my passion lives within the intimate and sacred place of another person’s pain, growth, and healing. For two years before he passed, I worked alongside Corey and helped create a step-by-step model, teaching couples and individuals how to find a healthy connection through sexual health education and mindfulness. Finding wholeness, individually and as a couple, was Corey and my professional passion {and, still is for me today}.
